I think we desperately need a change of course in this country. That's why I voted this week for Barack Obama. I'm middle aged, white, fairly well-educated and have had an interesting life. I want a leader who is smart, well-educated (even better than me), a listener, and for goodness sake, someone who is reflective! And, on top of all these characteristics, Obama is pleasing to look at, rarely, if ever, smirks and has an engaging manner. Whoo-hoo! Really, though, I think he will take us to a new era of government that has been missing for at least 8 years. You know, caring about the people rather than the greed of a few.
I'm so glad I voted this week and sincerely hope everyone else does, too. Because if for no other reason I am sick of the political world taking over the tv, internet, newspaper and every other form of entertainment out there. I'm ready for some mindless easy watching.
On another front, I just finished The Bible Salesman by Clyde Edgerton. This is vintage Clyde. The funeral scene is funny.
Now, I'm starting The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. Got to keep Oprah happy.
As far as knitting goes, I'm finishing up Christmas stockings for the silent auction at church in November. They are not your average stocking--will post a pic.
That's it, my first posting. Hopefully they will get much better than this. See y'all.
That's the way it is....
